Bedford Interactive
comprises of two seperate companies, B.I. Research, a non-profit making company
that develops Resources for Dance Teachers, and B.I. Productions which publishes
those resources.
Over a dozen
major papers have been contributed to conferences, workshops & symposia
in Australia, Canada and Europe. In particular at important events in London,
Lisbon, Brussels, Rotterdam, Perth, Toronto, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide,
Sevenoaks, Exeter, Surrey, Bretton Hall and others..

Jacqueline
Smith-Autard, acknowledged as a world-leading exponent
in dance education, has taught dance in schools and universities for the past
42 years. Much
of the latter work has been in teacher training for dance education.
She has written many articles and two seminal texts - Dance Composition, first
published in 1976 and published in its 4th edition in 2000, and The Art of
Dance in Education, first published in 1994 and to be available in its second
edition early in 2002. Jacqueline Smith-Autard has been influential in developing
dance taught as an art in the curriculum of schools, in school examination
syllabuses and in university programmes.
For the past 12 years her work with Jim Schofield in the context of Bedford
Interactive, has resulted in revolutionary developments in the use of technology
to extend and enhance dance pedagogy.
The published outcomes of this unique partnership continue to push boundaries
in development of dance education. As an expert in the field, Jacqueline Smith-Autard
has been invited to teach and give papers in many countries.

Jim Schofield Physics graduate
with 39 years experience in education, from schools to Universities, from
Hong Kong to Scotland and from Mathematics to Multimedia in Dance.
After 8 years work on Computers in Control in the 1980s, he specialised in
the control of, and access to, high quality video in the teaching of dance,
an interest which has continued ever since. Prior to retirement, Jim Schofield
was Director of Information Technology at Goldsmiths College, University of
London, where he oversaw the installation of a campus-wide fibre optic network. Since 1989,
researches in Multimedia have all been undertaken in joint work with Dr. Jackie
Smith-Autard, a world authority on the Resource-Based teaching of Dance, and
this has resulted in a series of quality works using Laser Disc, CDi and CD-ROM,
including the comprehensive Wild Child Resource Pack and flagship title Choreographic
Outcomes.
Jim Schofield is also a prolific writer on education, the philosophy of science and education as well as being a leading authority on the study of movement. You can request papers on any of these subjects by email:

Michael
Schofield (M I C O) Filmaker, musician and digital
craftsman, Mico, has been a key part of the production team since 2001 and now programs, directs and designs most of Bedford Interactive's projects. He has also worked as graphic designer and webmaster for one of the UK's leading dance companies, Northern Ballet Theatre, and has directed music videos, programmed world-leading software as well as being a respected member of the north of England's experimental electronic music scene.
