The FORMotion Project is now well under way, thanks to a grant for Research & Development from Yorkshire Forward. Phase 1 of this research began in ernest in February 2010, and we can now give you some tantalising glimpses of what FORMotion may look like.
It is still early days, and these prototypes lack much of the functionality we plan for the final product, but good progress is being made, and we will soon be moving on to the next stage in our research process - automating the toolkit.
We are still offering a free copy of FORMotion to any dance educators or professionals willing to lend us their dance footage for this research, although this offer will finish on the 1st of May, so get in contact with us quickly if you wish to take part. CONTACT |

We are currently looking for people who can provide us with a small selection of related video clips. FORMotion is primarily designed for comparing video on two screens. This can be video of the same dance piece from different camera angles, different interpretations of the same piece, or simply different dances you would like to compare on screen. Please get in touch if you have such a collection and would be willing to allow us to use your footage in our research.
We will soon be offering a new archiving service to dance studios, libraries and other organisations. Using FORMotion to access, playback and compare video from a complete archive could revolutionise the creative process. Imagine having your whole repertoire at your fingertips... watch this space.
