Abstract:                                                                                            

 

The principles of resource-based teaching are discussed in relation to the promotion of learning in dance.  This is presented as a necessary first step before going on to develop further the ideas for use of multimedia to enhance the resources employed in such a methodology. The lecture is based on answering three main educational questions.

1.      Question 1: What are the characteristics of a resource if it is to be employed within the context of a resource-based teaching and learning methodology in dance education?

2.      Question 2: How and in what depth can the resource actually teach the students?

3.      Question 3: What is the role of the teacher in resource-based teaching/learning?
