Abstract:

The lecture includes reference to techniques of video capture and editing experienced by the Bedford Interactive Research partners from 1988-1996. Discussion on the roles of the different people involved, the kinds of equipment and venues used precedes description of the processes involved in capturing the assets for one CD resource pack. Details in relation to rehearsing for the camera crew by means of storyboarding and videoing in relation to the projected pedagogic function of the dance item, lead to identification of some of the specific difficulties in videoing dance and a summary of ideas emerging from our experiences.
