Abstract:
This paper deals with the range of developments that can be applied to Primary Assets to enhance their role in Pedagogy. Firstly, it deals with derived assts – stills, movies and databases extracted from source assets, then, at length, describes the possibilities of producing enhanced – or added-value – assets. Examples are used to demonstrate the possibilities, then the use of Laser Discs as a halfway house in generating these enhanced assets is described. A whole range of assets produced in this way is described, then the technological steps necessary to integrate these new assets into a multimedia resource are explained. Finally, a CD i Resource Demo is shown at length, and the productive cycle of cooperation necessary between teacher and technologist is defined.
