Abstract:

This paper describes the steps in Multimedia Authoring – in our case predominantly CD i Authoring. The process is to generate controlling software to deploy the assets as required in teaching Dance. After a short piece on Video Encoding (MPEG), the various authoring processes for CD i, CD rom and our own Hybrid System of Development are described. Using Medial Mogul (authoring software) and CD i, various unique features are encountered which are described in detail. Then, the process of converting all the assets into acceptable forms is dealt with, and a step by step description of the facilities and features of Media Mogul explained, followed by a brief discussion of an example script. The crucial phases of Simulation, Making a Disc Image, Recording to CD (including multisession recording) are described, and finally, Publication and Distribution are dealt with.
