WILD CHILD MINI RESOURCE PACK ONE
From the
team that brought you Wild Child comes a new introductory pack aimed
at early years dance teaching.
In particular, this multimedia teacher's resource is aimed at Primary Schools
(ages 7 - 11, KS2 in UK schools),
but is also ideal as an introduction to dance for slightly older pupils (ages
11 - 14, KS3 in UK schools).
This title deals with a particular piece - THE STEP DANCE - part of our highly
successful major title
The Wild Child Resource Pack.
It is performed by the Ludus Dance Company, the leading specialists in taking
performances
directly into schools via extended residences.

The full Wild Child Pack
is positioned a little too high for most Primary school children, and even
older students coming to
dance for the first time. We have responded to many requests from all over
the world to tailor part of this
wonderful resource for use with this lower age group - a mini resource
pack for introductory dance.
Wild Child itself is based on a true story of a boy abandoned in a forest
at a very young age, and upon his 'rescue' his
difficulty with re-integration into society. Step Dance takes one chapter
of this tale, where the Wild Child struggles
to learn a sequence of moves on his first day at school. Expressing quite
complex issues such as isolation,
conformity and teamwork, through the medium of dance, makes them very accessible
and also fun to explore.
The Mini Resource pack itself features a colourful and interactive CD-ROM
with accompanying Teacher's Resource Book.
Lesson plans include composing, performing and appreciation activities - the
latter encourage development of
language to describe and interpret dances and increase of skills to listen
and respond to music.
The LOOK, DO, MAKE & LISTEN sections of the CD-ROM are designed as resources
to compliment the teaching process
providing finger-tip access to all of the video clips required in the dance
lessons.
