FAQ

Q:    The video on the Resource Disc is jerky?

A:
We always recommend installing our titles on your computer's hard drive.
Unzip or copy the files from the CD-ROM to your C: drive (or equivalent) and run it from there.
CD-ROM drives are often too slow to handle the video at full motion (25 frames per second)
so running the product directly from the CD-ROM disc itself is often not possible.

If you are running the title from your hard drive (not from the CD-ROM) and are still experiencing
jerky or interrupted video, see the suggestions below for enhancing performance.

Q:   The Resource Disc occaisionally hangs and closes itself down?

A:    This could be caused by a number of things. Does your computer match the minimum technical
requirements outlined with the resource pack? Your computer may need upgrading. If your
computer does match the specifications outlined, then it could be due to your computer's
hard drive being too full or too fragmented. De-fragmenting your hard drive is often a good idea
as data the computer is trying to access may be scattered all over the disc, with the computer
having to work much harder than it should to accomplish simple tasks.
Hard Drive speed can also be a factor, we recommend a minimum HD speed of 7200rpm for
computers running multimedia and video applications such as our products. Here's a useful guide to Hard Drives.

If you are running one of our titles on a fast, modern computer with a fast Hard Drive with enough space (having 10 or more GB
free is always a good idea) and are still experiencing difficulties, it could be your computer just needs optimising for
       running demanding multimedia products.
You can increase your computer's virtual memory (an area of the Hard Disk the computer uses as if it were memory)
by going to Windows' Control Panel, then to System and to the Advanced tab. Click on the Performance
       Settings
button - here you can change the Virtual Memory Allocation - increase your paging file size to a minimum
of 768MB and try running the title again.
